I’ve been trying to figure out the appropriate lighting for a new home but have been having trouble with a 2 story room… Are there special recessed lights for this?

    • http://www.1000bulbs.com Will Parsons

There are no recessed lights designed specifically for 2 story rooms; however, what you’ll want to use is a lamp with a brighter lumen output and a shallower beam angle. Get something that’s closer to a spotlight since the beam diffuses further out. A wide angle will diffuse immediately and won’t illuminate very well from so far away. Hope that answers your question Brent, and thanks for asking!

I like the idea of rope light used as a wall decor. But I wanted to know if I can use the rest of the rope light after I cut the excess.

I have some stairs outside my apartment that weren’t lit at all, and my wife fell down them. We bought some solar lights that we zip tied to the railing above the stairs, but they are not very bright. Hopefully you have something that will give off more light that doesn’t need to be wired in or mounted permanently.
I DID enter the contest, though.
